Former US President Donald Trump survived another assassination attempt on Sunday in Florida. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), several gunshots were fired outside Trump’s golf course on Sunday afternoon. This is the second assassination attempt against the Republican Party US Presidential Candidate and the opponent of Kamala Harris that has occurred two months after the one at a rally in Pennsylvania. The suspect is identified by the investigation agencies as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh. The Secret Service agents opened fire near the boundary of the golf course, resulting in the immediate arrest of Ryan Routh.
Who Is Ryan Routh?
According to the latest New York Times report, Ryan Routh is a former construction worker from North Carolina. Sources suggest that he has no formal military background. However, in his past X (formerly Twitter) posts, he expressed his wish to ‘fight or die’ for Ukraine after Russia invaded the country in 2022.
In an interview with Newsweek Romania, Routh said that he went to Ukraine as a support person there. He also declared that he recruited several willing people in Kyiv to participate in the war. He is vocal that everyone must be involved in the fight against the Russian invasion and support Ukrainians unconditionally.
A GoPro camera and a high-powered AK-47-style rifle were recovered at the scene. At the time of the assassination attempt against Mr. Trump, Routh was hiding in bushes and escaped in a black car when the Secret Agents opened fire. Authorities were able to track down the car with help from some crucial witnesses.
After arresting Routh, Palm Sheriff Ric Bradshaw confirmed to the AFP News agency that they have someone in custody who is a potential suspect in the Donald Trump Assassination Attempt. It was found that he had been previously arrested in 2002 for barricading himself inside a building with a fully automated weapon.

Ryan Wesley Routh’s son commented on the Daily Mail about his father’s hate towards the 45th USA President, Donald Trump. He said that his father dislikes Trump like all reasonable people and does not count as a violent or criminal person. He also expressed his doubts about Routh owning a firearm. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden appreciated the Secret Service and Law Enforcement Partners for their vigilance and effort to keep the former President safe.
